COMMUNITY

Enhancing the communities in which we operate is paramount for Quay North Urban Development, and a primary objective on all of our projects. We pride ourselves on our connections with our community through partnerships, sponsorships, and programming initiatives with various local organizations.

Events & Experiences

Quay North is proud to support community events, local athletes and more, through sponsorships and partnerships. From events celebrating arts & culture, to partnering with local organizations, we are actively supporting the communities in which we live and work.

Arts & Culture

Quay North supports local art and culture on the North Shore through community partnerships, and by providing opportunities for local artists to create and showcase their work onsite at our properties in various capacities.

The Alley at Lonsdale Quay Market is a curated space for local retailers, artisans, or small business owners to utilize kiosks or booths to sell their products or promote their work. On the second level of The Quay, Artists in residence, James Harry and Lauren Brevner are currently creating in their studio for an upcoming art show.

Seen throughout our properties, year-round, are various local artist works including murals and installations, pop-up spaces and exhibits.

Tourism

As the official operator of the Destination BC Visitor Centre for North Vancouver, and the only private company operating a Visitor Centre in BC, we serve the needs of visitors, by promoting destinations and activities within the region. The Visitor Centre is co-funded by Destination BC, the City of North Vancouver, The Shipyards District BIA and Vancouver’s North Shore Tourism Association.

Local Organizations

Supporting local organizations in various capacities is an integral part of our work at Quay North and we aim to make a difference in our community through corporate donations and sponsorships.

This past year we have partnered with: Capilano University as the sponsor of the Outdoor Learn and Play Area at their new Centre for Childhood Studies, which is slated to open in August 2024; Polygon Art Gallery as the annual sponsor in support of the innovative programming; MONOVA – Museum of North Vancouver and North Shore Pride Alliance on various local events & programming; and with Foundry North Shore in support of their Work and Education program that provides opportunities to North Shore youth to achieve meaningful employment and career growth.
